Errors during compilation of example project

Hi, I'm a complete newcomer to Qt, and am trying to build an example project on ubuntu linux using qtcreator.
I'm getting a lot of build errors, and wondered if someone could point me in the right direction to fix this. I'm perplexed as the errors are related to android, which I shouldn't be targetting (system is 32bit x86)

If you make a brand new project, using File->New->Qt Widgets Application
and try ot run that, does it also say android errors?
