Lagging

Hello,
Lately the forum seems to be very unresponsive and lags and loses connection often. It's hard and I'd say even plainly irritating to try and fight against the frequent connection drops. Is this something that could be improved upon? Perhaps the problem is that the server is overburdened?

Hi @kshegunov, I have not experienced any lags in this forum over the past 2 weeks, so I'm guessing that the issue is not in the server.

Do you experience the same lag if you use a different browser or computer?
Are any other websites lagging for you?

I have not tried another browser, but it seems to persist at least on one other internet connection (another ISP). As far as I can tell it's not isolated, because @mrjj seems to have similar troubles from his country. Maybe it's an European problem, or something similar. As to your second question, no, other websites work flawlessly (responsiveness-wise). It's curious why would this happen, because the forum itself doesn't seem to be very heavy - there aren't many pictures or heavy traffic, but the connection will drop nonetheless. Usually the problem solves by itself a few minutes later, but would occur at least 1-2 times a day.

I have it too and people i chat with - also
says "forum died" when it happens to me.

This is in 2 different browser, on 2 different machines and different os.

I first assumed it was local, but its not as local as pc as - when was out, i open terminal server on
other pc in completely other location and site was also not responding there.

Yes. Since last week , the Forum has not been responding in time. Also some times, it dies for almost 3-4 minutes, which is bad. I have tried on different browsers , then I realized its not because of local server / browser.

Sometimes only 10-20 secs, sometimes longer.

Its not local to pc.

Yes, we seem to have issues with the infra. It is being worked on, and we really hope to get it solved soon.
It all comes down to traffic increasing steadily all the time, and we need to keep up with that.

To be completely honest, I've not experienced any drops in the last two days, but possibly because I hardly had the time to log in here. In any case, it's good that the problem is known, worked on and that I'm not imagining things. :)

It's a good problem to have, I guess :)
