using SVG for button icons

Hello and a Happy New Year to all,
I use SVG files for the icons on my buttons. This works very well except that the images always appear to be antialiased. Is there a way to turn off the antialiasing in this case?
Also, they look very pixelated when displayed on a Mac Retina display. Is there a way to handle this so they look will look nice and sharp on Retina displays?Many thanks and best wishes.
