QtSplashScreen is causing android to crash?

I added a Qt splash screen and it works on desktop(windows 10), however, if I build for android ARM it works but skips the splash screen when it is deployed by Qt, but closing and restarting the app causes it to hang on a black screen with an android guy at the top left forever, how can I fix or work around this?
Note:I found adding a second w.show(); will cause it to stop hanging, but that skips the splash screen I would like the user to see, it also takes 2 seconds to happen because my QtTimer is on a 2 second delay to close QtSplashScreen.
