QtCreator: Plot array data with debugging helper

Hello,
since some time I have tried to use the debugging helpers in order to plot array data from a std::array. When I reach the breakpoint I can set the display format to "Plot in separate window" but nothing happens.
I use QtCreator 3.4.2 on Debian Jessie. Matplotlib and Python 2 is installed.
Is there anybody who successfully used this feature? I cannot find any information or instructions about this...
