Converting HTML to QML
-
I think this is an interesting topic. QML's Text element's "RichText" HTML subset is (IMHO) a bit weak more weak and limited than "content authors" could really use, but going to a full browser element (Qt WebKit/WebEngine) isn't an option on iOS apps (AFAIK). I could see an HTML-to-QML converter being quite useful to some folks. Interesting question of whether a preprocessor would be as good as a solution as a better QML Text element that was something somewhere between QML RichText Text and a full web engine. I suspect better CSS support is the main need and a significant complicating factor (simplest solution... just use a full-fat browser engine).
Somewhere out there, there is a FOSS tool which will export from photoshop to QML ( http://blog.qt.io/blog/2010/10/19/exporting-qml-from-photoshop-and-gimp/ ) and I've seen content author types resort to that to get the static layout they wanted into a QML Text+Images form.
