Hello all.I have a question about private API usage.Let say i have a private API which developers need access key assign to them to identify them so they can access them.I manage to have hold of that though i am not suppose to have it so i have a few questions.

1)Can the site owner discover the illegal usage of the API usage and track it back to me?

2)Is there any legal repercussion if i use it without their knowledge.

    Thank you

That depends on the website's policies.

It's not really a Qt related question so you should post it in the non-Qt part of the forum.

        But anyway, consider this example:

There's a house that people need a key to open. I manged to get a hold of that key although I'm not suppose to.
Can the house owner discover I'm using the house when he's not around?
Are there any legal repercussion if i use it without his knowledge?

I hope this clears things up. In case there's any doubt: The answer to both is "yes" and you should return the keys and not use the house unless agreed with the owner.

Because the API is going to be use on Qt app. So you mean the site administrator can trace it to my app if I use it.

Unrelated what is the third post about?. What to discuss on profit.

Whether an admin can trace you depends on the API. Some can, some can't, some don't care enough. There's only one way to find out. The illegal one.

As for vtnawd, I am independent programmer and unrelated to digia. I just use digia open source product which is Qt Creator and it is free

Don't bother. This guy is as hard headed as they come. Might as well talk to a wall. We tried.
