Cannot unzip, unpack, install any version of qtcreator on ubuntu 12.04
Hi, I have tried downloading the .gz packages but they won't unzip as described on your X11 documentation
I have tried downloading the online .run installers but -even though I 'allow as executable' they won't run
Even the .run package (447 MB) won't execute under ubuntu 12.04
What am I doing wrong?

Use tar command to extract gz files.

If you have made them executable, can you execute from the commandline so as to get what is the error.
tar command doesn't work - it just tells me it doesn't look like a tar archive and then exits
will try the commandline on the other package
command line doesn't work either - no error reported apart from command not found
tried command line again
error is 'cannot execute binary file'
Can you post what you tried ?
