Qmediaplayer wont work

Hello guys are i making a videoplayer with Qt and c++ and i built it but the problem is that its not showing any video its showing error like codec missing even if i play a normal wmv file still its showing codec missing.but when i run the same program via remote desktop on my lapto it works fine could you please help with this.Why it is now working in my desktop pc wher i have written the code.

I guess that you use Windows
Does Windows media player plays the same file ?

ya the qt player works but it work in my laptop when i connect my laptop with remote deskstop to my pc but it doesnt work in my pc where i have wriiten the code for it.
