[Solved] Why is text scrolling choppy in Qml?

Hi,
A perfect example is the [Qt Quick Examples - Text -> Banner] on the Welcome Screen in Qt Creator. I'm using 5.2.1 and I'm developing on an i7 with a high end video card. The text is being visibly redrawn every half second or so. Is there any way I can get a smooth text scroll in Qml? Does it have something to do with refresh rates perhaps? I don't get it.thnx

Okay, I had to replace the video driver on my Fedora 20 install to take advantage of the proprietary nvidia card and enable vdpau/vaapi ...

No more choppy animations. Plus my video looks much better now too.
