Hi friends i have a doubt about qt installation. I want to install qt on my windows xp PC and nedd lattest network modules for my application. When i go to qt download page it is showing Qt 5.2.0 for Windows 32-bit (MinGW 4.8, OpenGL, 689 MB) (Info) ,Qt 5.2.0 for Windows 32-bit (VS 2010, 570 MB) (Info) . Which one should i install . What are these vs 2010 and Mingw version.
Also if i have old qt installed on my PC then installing the only libraries will update the older one or not. Or will i habe to freshly install new one. Please clarify.

      Hi,

VS (Visual Studio) and MinGW are different compilers. If you already have Visual Studio 2010 in your PC, then download Qt 5.2.0 for Windows 32-bit (VS 2010, 570 MB) .

If you don't have VS 2010, then download Qt 5.2.0 for Windows 32-bit (MinGW 4.8, OpenGL, 689 MB). This package also includes the MinGW compiler.
Also if i have old qt installed on my PC then installing the only libraries will update the older one or not.
No, your old copy will not be upgraded.

i dont get any error message. Simply it does not start. My PC has inbuilt intel graphics. I doubt its issue related to opengl with graphics card. Please suggest.

What does the icon look like?

Are you able to install other programs?

What service pack version is your Windows XP?
