    Hi,

I'm a bit confused over whether or not DirectShow is supported by QtMultimedia. This page suggests that it is:

"Qt Multimedia features for Windows are implemented in two plugins; one using the Microsoft DirectShow API, and another using WMF (Windows Media Foundation) framework."

However, these references - and my own experience - suggest is isn't:
    "http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.qt.devel/12033) ":http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.qt.devel/12033)
"DirectShow backend: could be available together with the WMF plugin in order to provide better codec support on Windows."

If it's not currently supported, are there any firm plans to implement it in the future?

For background, the project I'm working on has had to move to Qt5 to fix issues relating to touch screen use on Windows 8; however, in doing so we've lost support for all video formats other than WMV and MP4.

    Thanks,
    Paul Morris
