Mobile World Congress 2011
-
Last year the Symbian Foundation was kind enough of giving a pass to the Mobile World Congress to people who volunteered one morning in their hospitality lounge for the Symbian Ideas project. Since I live in Barcelona, I could not let the opportunity scape, so I was one of the lucky guys, and despite Nokia not being exactly there, I saw the Qt people and some interesting stuff.
This year I would love to attend too, specially because I could not come to devdays, and this year Nokia will devote one developer seminar on Monday 14th, which is exactly the day I turn 30 years old, so it could be a lovely gift. :-)
I'm even considering paying for a ticket, but is quite an expensive price for a birthday self-present (650€ plus VAT) and only for a day. HP/Palm seems is giving away some visitor passes like the Symbian Foundation did last year with us.
What about you? Is anyone attending the Mobile World Congress? In spite of if I can make it to the venue or not, if any of you wants advice about the city, or is up for a coffee/beer when the day is over, or needs a ride to the airport, don't be shy and tell me (alex|at|disperso.net). One of the nice things of last year, was that I could practice my English and that I could meet many people, so you would be doing me a favor. :-)

Nice opportunity to lay hands on Meego Tablet for those who are going to attend the event.
I will surely miss it.

I saw the event yesterday, but I thought that the program wasn't very Qt-ish, or very MeeGo centric (I have still to see what the "Intel AppUp Software Development Kit" is).
But with your scoop... That's hard to resist. :) I've registered right now. For next year, I think I will join a news site to get a press pass. :)
Thanks for the tip, Paulo.
