When I do "File>>New File or Project>>Non-Qt Project>>Plain C++ Project" then I am at "this":http://imageshack.us/content_round.php?page=done&l=img706/7757/s0y6.png page. When I press "Next" then I get to "this":http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/21/0gx6.png/ page and get the error "No valid kits found". I can't press "Next". I am using the latest version of Qt creator (2.8.0). How can I make a Plain C++ project?

I have just solved it. I had to change "Qt version" from "None" to "Qt 4.8.5 in PATH (System)" on "this":http://imageshack.us/f/38/qas5.png/ page. Now the kit shows correctly.

Yeap. It is a bit surprising that you need a Qt version for projects that do not use Qt, but so far we could not manage to avoid this. The issue is that Qt ships qmake which is the build system used by the non-Qt project. So to know which qmake to run we need a Qt version (that is not used later).
You should be able to set up non-Qt projects for kits without Qt using cmake though -- if you have that build system plugin enabled.
