I don't mean change it's brush or something like that. May be, I will draw a menu with arbitrary edge , attaching an icon at one corner.
Either try with QStyle, or implement own drawing method. A lot can also be achieved using Qt Style Sheets.
QML is also an option, of course, although probably not in your case.
