Project Elf - Winners of week no. 1

  • We have determined our three winners of the first week (Dec 1 - 5):

xsacha also is in the lead for the newbie league, he will receive the special package.

    CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!

I will contact all three directly. :)

  • congrats all and well done xsacha ! great to have you on board :)
and I promise no tagging for the rest of this month from my side - equal opportunity believer that I am :P

and thanks Alexandra and Marius, Gurudutt and to the entire Devnet team

  • Congrats, Guys!
Chetan and Denis, special thanks you, for your work.

  • Wow! Thanks :)

Tagging is probably where most of the points are (tip for next week!). I always notice topics are tagged well before I see them (I think that's you chetan ;)). Even if I'm the one who created the topic.

  • Congrats to chetankjain and xsacha!
    And thanks to DevNet team.

  • Congratulations to all the winners!

  • Congrats to you all. You have it well deserved!

  • Congratulations to the winners, and congratulations to the DevNet team.

  • Congratulations, nice work everyone up there.

  • Congratulations to winners!

  • Congratulations! And thanks for your good work :)

  • Indeed, I am very happy to see that the prizes are well deserved and I hope to see the same next week. Keep it up, folks! :)

  • Congratulations to all three. Now (well, when you receive the phone), we hope we'll see the really important stuff: cool Qt-based apps on those C7. ;-)

  • hi all, thanks for the wishes and the nice comments :)

  • Moderators

dispero: Grab the chance this week... all the regulars are out of the picture by now:-)

  • Congrats, guys!

Let's see if this week I have a chance :-)

  • Now without you guys on the race we common humans may have a remote chance! :)

    Congratulations!

  • Congratulations! Deserved wins!

Definitely! Not only that, here in Spain, both Monday (today) and Wednesday are a holiday, so I'll try to squeeze all the time I can this week, because the next one will be really hard. :)

And I was hoping to have a chance now that the "giants" are out of the picture... The good news is that no post is being left unanswered for more than a few minutes and as far as I can tell they are getting relevant replies (not all of course).

  •
Congratulations! Deserved wins!
infoctopus: you are a ghost ....you are everywhere! You really want a C7! :) too bad for us... me too :(

  • By the way I have idea, hide previous winners from "Top 5 this week" to end of December. ;)

Probably this is too complicated, and requires some hardcoding. What about having a page where you can see not just the first 5, but the first 50 or so?

Regarding this, I’d like to get my hands to analytics data of this kind of site... But that won’t happen :) Some kind of better statistics things would be nice, though.

Vass, no! the winners list would be a surprise if previous winners were still coming in the top 5. Keeping the suspense till the last minute :D

    have fun :P

  • Look at the "Hall of Fame":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/ what about adding the [more...] button ;)

  •
By the way I have idea, hide previous winners from "Top 5 this week" to end of December. ;)
Remember, the list of "Top 5 this week" is based in the last 7 days of activities, it is not the same ranking used for the Project Elf :-)

  • You are right. I was looking for the "members list":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/member/memberlist and now I found it ;) - Some information could be added there and some further sort criteria too, why not the points last week?

  • And I was hoping was the last week as in "from Sunday to Saturday"... :(

One more suggestion just to not miss the opportunity: maybe instead of showing the total number of points for the users on the "last week" it could show the number of points they "generated" last week... Not sure if it makes any more useful but ...

  • Actually I've no clue what last week means ;)

  • fcrochik, what do you mean by "generated"? How does it differs from what is shown now?

  •
Actually I've no clue what last week means ;)
I understood that it's last 7*24 hours, no? I like it this way, because there is no single moment during the week that you can find the "top 5" with people with 0 points or very few.

  •
fcrochik, what do you mean by "generated"? How does it differs from what is shown now?
Right now it shows your life time points - not just the points you added to the pile last week.... The numbers on last week match the "hall of fame" for the user.

  • fcrochik, are you sure? :) check mine or chetankjains points.

  • OOOPS!.... I am completely wrong... it does show a different number... I guess when I first checked I compared someone that had started last week or I just didn't pay enough attention...

  •
Exactly. Points older than 7*24 hours are not considered in that list.

Probably looked at me. I have same points on past 7 days and hall of fame.
I joined on Dec. 2 and it's now the 8th, so it'll start decreasing soon :).

  • Sacha: Do you want to borrow my login? :)
    4000+ points in a week?
    Congratulations!

  • Denis got more points in the past week.
You must also remember we get double points for December. 4000 is the same as 2000 of old.

Besides, the first week is easy. I hadn't seen any of the pages before, so I could rate them, tag them and contribute to them. Now that I've read every post, wiki and FAQ my points will fall.
There was a lot more conversation going on due to this Project Elf as well. People were finding stuff to talk about and I was responding.

  • I am clearly doing something wrong (or not doing the "right" thing)...

Just noticed that a lot of people with less posts than I have have many more points :(
