Just thought of sharing this, I initially built some scripts for Windows and when whent on to run those on Mac, there was different in how the AUT names were captured in both platforms, windows just took the AUT name however, Mac took the AUT name + Version Number.
This was conflicting and the script failed, I found 2 solutions for this:- Change the name of the AUT in the system (maybe this is not possible for all AUTs), eventually I added version number to the name, this way I could add multple versions of the same AUT and it would run smoothly on both the platforms
OR - Identify the OS and choose which application name to use:
OperatingSystem = str(sys.platform)
if OperatingSystem == "Win32":
startApplication("AUT")
else:
startApplication("AUT123"")
