    Hi.

Almost two months ago I submitted a suggestion for a workaround for a severe problem with QProcess:
    https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-24619

Today it still remains in the "Reported" and "Not Evaluated" status. So apparently it has been ignored until now.

Is there anything more I can do to get this request evaluated?

Please note that, of course, I do not expect that my suggestion gets accepted/implemented within two months.

But what I do expect is that my suggestion at least gets evaluated and, if it is accepted, an approximated time schedule for when it will be incorporated. Or, if it can not be accepted yet, some info on what needs to be done to get it accepted. Or if it can not be accepted at all, I'd at least like to know why and what solution is suggested instead.

(I understand that Qt gets a lot of suggestions. But at the point where new suggestions/bugreports don't even get evaluated anymore, the whole bug-tracker is about to become pointless ^^)

Any advices would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

      Hi MuldeR,

This suggestion can not be accepted by Qt4.8, unless there is plan for Qt4.9. Otherwise, application linked to Qt4.8.3 will refuse to work with Qt4.8.0.

However, If you think this important for you, you can push a commit through gerrit http://wiki.qt-project.org/Setting_up_Gerrit for Qt5.0 before Qt5.0 beta released.

        Thanks for the quick reply!

That's a pity. But I see that it would break binary compatibility.

I really hope there will be a Qt 4.9, as Qt 5 looks like it will still need a lot of effort and time until it can replace Qt 4 for native C++ development. Until then, I'll need to build Qt 4.8.x with custom patches...

        Will do that. Thanks.
