Qt Creator NEEDS Copilot
-
Hi,
Been away for a while. Miss Qt but sadly it does not fall in line with my new role.
Been working on some other projects in other languages and I will say that Github Copilot is an incredible tool. Viewpoints and ethics aside.
While Qt can be a very productive expansion to C++, which lets be honest we all love here, there are times where more work has to be done over other languages. This is in spite of the GREAT framework that Qt is.
My concern and why I am posting this is often times other higher level languages can be more productive and often get the resultant software project completed sooner. The addition of Github copilot is going to make those programmers even more productive than before. I am concerned that if Qt Creator does not get this feature soon the gap may widen further.
I did some reason and cannot find an API to build a plugin so I do not know where we as a community begin but we should at least work to make the Qt company push for an optional integration of this tool.
Anyways that's all, keep on coding! I will continue to use Qt for my personal projects.
