After "importing " a project

1. there are strange files added to my main project directory - I like to se them in subdirectory of my choice
2. on reboot the imported project is NOT in "Resent Projects" - it has to be added AGAIN

What do you mean by 'import'? Just using 'File->Open File or Project...'? Can you be more specific about these 'strange' files and share your .pro or CMakeLists.txt file for your project.
