here we go again - new QT install hell - rant

I need a clean copy of btscanner example.
I have a working OS in my multi OS system.
There is NO QT software in it...
I have a free QT account I have (gratuitously - on QT part ) received about three years ago. Hence I consider myself a long time QT user - with valid account. As such user I see no NO option to download / install newest 6.2.1 software. Out of desperation i downloaded "offline installer" - my OS first refused to extract it for "security reason" ( I just love it when coders are babysitting MY actions ) . It eventually extracted the zip file - so far to unknown place... and no obvious way to run it... Ah yes, I can see it now - what do I want for free -

You might enjoy devrant.com to blow off steam. I go there for that reason.
