I'm looking for something convenient to use at home in bed (I need to steal a few hours of sleep ... with the kids I don't stay anything else) I thought of a chromebook .... I read that Crome OS is felt on Gentoo then in theory I could use it for qtcreator c ++ qml .... but I have not seen any feedback on the net, nobody who or use or used it .... unknown you can tell me if I can use it for programming with qt c ++ and qml Or if it won't be possible?

I am not a passionate of OS and programs occasionally and for 2/3 specific purposes only ... so I ask the experts.

      Hi
      It is possible
      https://solarianprogrammer.com/2017/09/11/two-weeks-programming-chromebook-challenge/
but does take quite some fiddling to get up and running. If you already owns a true workstation, it's easier to simply remote it. which works out of the box.

I think getting Linux installed and running on a Chromebook is simpler now than what's in that link and no longer requires wiping the system. See this newer link: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/9145439?hl=en

Once you have Linux installed, it's not much different than a regular Linux system. I have done it, but don't use it very often. I usually do what mrjj recommends; remote into my main development computer.
