QML Popup disabling hover states if closed and destroyed

If you create a QML popup in lets call it someComponent1 and set modal = true, then in a single function call
```
popup.close();
stackView.replace(someComponent2);
```
The popup causes all the components which use MouseArea to not register hover anymore.
Is this a QML bug or am I doing something wrong?
