Simulating PositionSource updates in QML

There doesn't seem to be a canonically known good way to simulate location updates. I've read every single post on this forum that includes the text nmeasource and none of them have a worked example. The documentation is very sparse on this front as well.

Can anyone post a working example of how to feed arbitrary GPS coordinates to QML? If it requires a log file, then please post the log file as well.
