Easiest OS and way to install and use the Qwt plugin in Qt creator?

Hello,
I've tried to install and use the Qwt Plugin in Qt creator on Debian 10. However, I haven't this working yet.

I was thinking of just use a virtual box image, to make everything easier.
What operating system is the easiest one to install and use the Qwt plugin?
With easy to install, I mean: not too much configuration, install using apt-get, or there's a documented install process already for the OS (and is quite recent).
