Is there a way to get the width and height of a button and/or other Qt based widgets before they are rendered?
I have pushbuttons that I want to position programmatically, the dimensions of the button are unknown at this point although I've set the text that will be displayed.
As far as I can see I have to pass geometry to the button and cannot just set-up the position?

No, use a proper layout.
