Overlapping Mouse areas cursor shape

Hi,
I have several overlapping mouse areas in a plot component I designed. E.g. I have vertical lines which posess a MouseArea, and I would like the mouse cursor shape to change if I enter this MouseArea. I tried to set cursorShape for this MouseArea but it does not seem to have an effect. Is the problem possibly due to other overlapping MouseAreas which have the Standard cursor shape? If so, what is a strategy to still change the cursor shape?
