Qt Creator "manage kits" does not auto-detect all the MSVC stuff (from VS 2017 community in particular).
This screenshot says it all. I have had this issue before, but ended up switching projects, but now I'm back into QtCreator / C++.
I'm not sure how to get it to detect other compilers which are indeed installed on my system.
Ideas to try?
I will try out the two listed solutions (Build Tools vs Chocolatey) and report here the first one that solves this.
Solution is to uninstall Qt5 and previous versions. Then install Qt again, selecting the minimum of stuff that you need, including the MSVC 2017 kit.
