Hi there, wonder if someone has tried building Qt on the new VS11 developer preview in windows 8 environment? Any impressions, building issues or whatsoever?

    Thanks!

I tried it but gave up after getting an obscure compiler (template) error in webkit. Soory, I do not remember the exect error location.

I've successfully built Qt on the Developer Preview of Windows 8. There were some build issues because there were several files removed from the Windows SDK 8, but they could be solved by installing the Windows SDK 7.1.

These two pages helped with some Visual Studio 11 issues that also occur under Windows 7:

          http://projects.developer.nokia.com/qt_metro/wiki
          http://projects.developer.nokia.com/qt_metro/wiki/PatchingJSCore

If you have an issue with webkit but don't need it, you can disable it via the -no-webkit switch for configure.

I ran into a different issue, not described on those pages, with Clucene: http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/14531

The make_pair problem is exactly the issue I had. Thanks for the info. I will try again in the near future.
