Bluetooth microbit to Windows 10 using Qt 5.12

I am using the bluetooth code in the QT example distribution. I have the microbit paired without pair code to my computer. When I step through the low energy example I can see the microbit as the only attached bluetooth device. When the example executes the controller->connectToDevice the program hangs.
Has anyone succesfully used QT to interface to a BBC:Microbit?
