modifier key [meta] not detected

Hello,
I am running Linux and in my qml code I try to detect the meta modifier.
All modifiers except this are detected. It never detect the meta modifier though.

I even installed an event handler listening for key events.
Meta modifier is not detected.

What is the reason for that?

For history purposes. Linux did not by default detect the Meta key at_all on the keyboard used.
