Qt apps have extremely large controls

Hi there,
I'm not sure this is the place to ask this but I'm having a problem with two Qt apps that I regularly use on Ubuntu; Dolphin Emulator (a nintendo Wii emulator) and OpenShot (a video editing application). I recently installed Xubuntu 18.04 and all my apps look fine except these two Qt apps. Both of these applications have extremely large controls (radio buttons, check boxes, drop down menus, buttons, etc. etc.). Is this a Qt related issue? Can anyone help me solve this? Is this a HiDPI issue? Thanks!

Might be. See if you can get a different result with env. vars listed in the docs https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/highdpi.html#high-dpi-support-in-qt
To get a proper fix, though, contact authors of Dolphin Emulator and OpenShot.
