Log-in expires after logging-in somewhere else
-
Gerolf, if you have selected "Keep me logged in for two weeks" on last friday then you must be logged in today as well, I did the same as you did and I am logged in at 3 different computer and when I came back to office today and I am still logged in.
Thank you Lukas Geyer for steps, I am trying to reproduce it here.

Just to clarify if this is working as intended:
- I usually use the "new_topic_search link":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/new_topic_search to enter the QDN.
- It then presents me a list of active topics and the login box on the right side.
- I then tick "keep logged in" and log in.
- I get redirected to a page which states "no posts matched your query", although the profile says there are several new posts.
- If I then use the same link again it correctly presents the new posts.
- If I close the browser and re-open it, I have to re-login instead of beeing logged in and the procedure starts over.
I'm quite sure this behaviour is new since the last update (before I was kept logged in and the new_topic_search link led directly to the new posts).
I'm on Windows 7 64 / Firefox 5.
I can reproduce this behaviour and looking into this.

Hi
I see when you are browsing "posts since last visit" as a anonymous user
and after that if log in at that page then after login it redirects to previous search, but that search results were for "anonymous user" and now you are logged as different user and that's why it dosen't return any result, also when you goes back then basically you go back in your browser and you see you are not logged in, but if you click on any other link then you are actually logged in, this is expected behaviour. -
Makes sense.
Probably it would be more intuitive to just re-execute the query as it would reflect the expected behaviour. However, I see that this leads to some technical difficulties.
Hi Gurudutt,
I always set this option, but was not logged in anymore... :-(

Hi Gurudutt,
I have switched to my laptop yesterday. My account was logged out. This morning I started my desktop. Again I had to log in. I set also always the keep option. :-(
-
For me, it currently seems to work.
-
This issue is fixed and it is working fine as expected here.
If you are still getting this issue, probably you might have to clear browser cache for this and try again.
-
Hi Gurudutt
Thanks for feedback. I will keep an eye on it and come back, if it persists. -
Hi Gurudutt
the problem is still there. After your last reply I have cleared all cache/temporary files and logged in again. When accessing the QtDevNet first time in a day I have to log in again. This happened definitely twice, yesterday and today.
I am working on win7 64 bit with Chrome 12.0.742.122

@Gurudutt: Problem seems to be back again :(
-
Yes, it is even worse now.
I have to log-in every morning and also sometime during the day. This is random and does not depend on logging in at another PC.
This is at least since Wednesday. -
Yes it will be difficult to narrow down the problem. In my case it's random too. This morning I had no problem even with logging in at another computer.
-
I have to log in again each morning when I start my machine...
-
I too have to log in anew every morning.
-
I'm seeing the same thing, as well, on one of my two machines. My Ubuntu/Chromium box works fine, but my Win 7/Firefox box won't save the session.
Btw, Is there a difference with an openId login vs a non-openID login? I am just using a username/password without an openID.

Also I browse this site with two different computers, both using Opera as browser though.

The Oslo trolls are aware of the issue will investigate it soon. Please stay tuned for updates :-)
