I came to know that qtscript module is about to be ditched by qt5. If yes, what will be the alternative to it in qt5, if any? I have an application which uses qtscript and is an indispensable part of it. Will it be possible to port it to qt5?

As far as I remember the discussion, QtScript will stay in Qt5, so you will be able to use it just as today. But, and here you are right, QtScript is losing it's primary status, as internally, V8 will be used. There was a long debate on this on "Qt5-feedback":http://lists.qt.nokia.com/mailman/listinfo/qt5-feedback mailing list, you can read it there, as I don't remember the gory details.

As long as scripting feature is available in qt environment, I don't think I care it is driven by V8 engine or V12 engine :) . But to think a very useful feature like scripting missing from qt environment, is untenable.

I found a "link":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/V8_Port here allaying most of my fears, concerns and heard rumors. Again respect for clear thinking ideas which are well communicated and documented. :)
