    Hi,

I just read a german article about Stephen Elop and why he is Nokias gravedigger (and why the N9 is not sold in the most important markets like Germany and USA)

    http://www.elektroniknet.de/kommunikation/news/article/80431/0/Vom_Katastrophenmanager_zum_Totengraeber/

The text is in german only but maybe you can get something out of google translator.

It is really sad to read that Nokia dumps its first and last MeeGo handy to waste by not selling it in such important markets like Germany and USA. But it is even more interesting to read that HTC (the only company that sells Windows Phone 7 as well as Android phones) decides to dump Windows Phone 7 because it sells 23 times more Android phones than Windows 7 Phones).

Haven't you heard? Nokia "has vanished":http://247wallst.com/2011/06/22/247-wall-st-ten-brands-that-will-disappear-in-2012/4/ anyways at the end of 2012 :-)

        This made me sad. :-(
My only hope after reading both articles is that Nokia won't be bought by Microsoft.

I don't think so. Microsoft has successfully transferred the risk of creating and promoting (we will see a 90+ million advertisement campaign soon) WP7 devices to Nokia.

HTC - beeing responsible for 5 out of 8 WP7 devices currently available - recently proclaimed that they will pull out because WP7 devices just don't sell.

So there is just Nokia left - with a WP7 exclusive strategy. Microsoft will be wary of bringing that risk to their own company (as they do not have the option to just drop WP7 as HTC or Samsung might / will do).

However - don't be sad! Enjoy all the new MeeGo devices Intel will push hard in the next months where your Qt applications run as smooth as on every other platform - including the most sold smartphone platform Android ;-)

My fear is that Stephen Elop is the anti christ send by MS to reduce Nokias value to such an extend that MS can buy it for a good value and thus use it to promote their own mobile OS. ;-)

This is a good point of departure for wild conspiracy theories.

I was quietly hoping that Nokia's burning platform would drag MS down with it. Let's all cross our fingers. There's still hope that MS will not survive this.

Was there any statement from the board of directors? The sole purpose of the board of director is to protect shareholders right. Nokia slumped more than 50% since Stephen Elops infamous burning platform speach. Can anybody tell me why the board of directory does not stop Stephen Elop ?

Is it still a wild conspiracy theory if it sounds like a fairly reasonable scenario?
