No...Qt has got updater, so it should go through it, not to download another 1,5GB...

The SDK has an updater, Qt itself does not. Just to avoid confusion.

You should use the SDK Maintainance tool of the SDK to upgrade.

there is an online installer which is much smaller to download.

I used it to update, but i choose another directory to install in, so I think this is the reason it had to download a lot.

Maybe if you install in the same directory, the installer will skip the files it already has? Has anyone installed like this?

Online/Offline installer are not ... updater. Use it if you have not installed Qt SDK 1.1 or if you want install it twice ...

If you have installed Qt SDK 1.1, you have to use "Update Qt SDK" with link or with QT Creator.
2 step : it update himself and re-launch then you have the component list to update.

Check Qt Creator Application then you have Qt Creator 2.2

                          just a long shot :
maybe you have more than one qtcreator executable on your system? and you are using the old one?
You could verify by searching your system?

if I were you I would install Qt Creator 2.2 then using the Qt Creator installer.
