QVideo and AVI Formats

I was taking a look at this source code http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/multimedia-videowidget.html
I'm trying to write a simple video player but using QVideo I can only use GIF and MNG formats, instead i need to use either AVI and MPEG formats... can anyone help me?

AVI is not a video stream format, it's a container (like MKV or MXF). Video and audio streams are encoded with various codec (mpeg 2, h264, etc.). Did you check that you have the right codec registered on your system?

Yes, i've just installed k-lite codec pack, and this still doesn't work. Do you have any example of working "avi" VideoPlayers? Thanks :)
