I tried to debug my code using VS2026 remote debug just now, and the build failed:

    Can anyone suggest what's wrong?

    Thanks, David

      Hi David,

AutoMoc isn’t failing because of DeepSkyStacker or Qt. It’s failing because this file is missing on the Linux machine:

      /usr/share/cmake-4.3/Modules/CMakeCXXCompilerABI.cpp

CMake needs that file while creating moc_predefs.h. Your install of CMake 4.3 looks incomplete.

      On Linux, try:

      ls /usr/share/cmake-4.3/Modules/CMakeCXXCompilerABI.cpp
Reinstall CMake (or use another complete CMake version)
Delete the build folder (~/.vs/DSS/build) and rebuild
      That should clear this error.

      Thanks,
      Ansif

Thank you! Removing and re-installing CMake (now 4.4.5) has fixed the problem. I've no idea what went "pear-shaped" or how!

          Glad that fixed it.

CMake’s Modules tree can end up half-installed sometimes (upgrade/path mix-up). Once CMakeCXXCompilerABI.cpp is back, AutoMoc is happy again.

          Good luck with DeepSkyStacker.
