QT for learning the right version?
-
Hi,
i'm complete new to QT and QT Tools, all of them dev studio etc., i'm coming from C++ MFC before and now want to get some knowledge about QT creator and how to build Windows Desktop applications, but i'm unsure do i have the free license or not.
I'm downloading the QT Creator online installer from here https://www.qt.io/development/download-qt-installer-oss and chose the windows installer.
Is this correct to have the free community license for learning purpose?
I am a natural person and not a company, I have no intention of using any part of QT commercially, my intentions are pure learning activity. Thanks for any help, and sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Yes, the Qt online installer you downloaded from the open source page is the correct version for learning. As long as you're using it for non commercial purposes, you can use the free community license. The open source license options (LGPL or GPL) apply to your learning and personal projects, so you’re good to go! Just be sure to check the terms if you ever decide to distribute your code. Enjoy exploring Qt!

@Jackol said in QT for learning the right version?:

This is not correct. The open source Qt edition can also be used for commercial projects as long as the LGPL license is not violated.
