Forum Updated to NodeBB 3.7.4

@SimonSchroeder hello, I'm the developer who is responsible for the Forum upgrade. This changes is not intended by us and basically came from the upgraded NodeBB core. I will try to investigate and bring back the old style

And if you move mouse cursor over that number you will also see who upvoted.
Nope :(
Like @SimonSchroeder said, unfortunately not. I was like this before, before the Update.
Now I see "Voters", "Wähler" or whatever, depending on the language my browser/system currently uses.@SimonSchroeder said in Forum Updated to NodeBB 3.7.4:
I would really prefer if I can immediately see the number of upvotes instead of hovering over every single post.
Yep, also this.
Maybe just make the stuff that is displayed on hover (votes, reply button, quote button...) permanently visible -

For me it works. It only shows "Voters" if there are no upvotes. Are you sure you hover the upvote count > 0?

the old arrow style button turned light green and was better to see right away.
I've discussed this with the designer and updated the upvote indicator styles. The updated style is right below

What browser are you using? Neither Chrome, nor Firefox works.
Worked well for me. I'm using the latest Chrome Version 124.0.6367.119 (Official Build) (arm64)
Tested also with Firefox, MS Edge, and Safari

Works for me with Firefox

I can't see it when I'm logged out, only when logged in!

Okay it's bizarre. Can you click on the post count to see a modal like that?
Same for me as @mpergand reported.
Tested Firefox, Chrome and even Chrome for Android. No user votes visible.I remember the dialog from long time ago, but it somehow stopped working when the "old" Forum was updated. I think it was around the time, when the down-vote button got removed.
Since then, I only had the "hover tooltip" function left to see which user upvoted. Clicking the number didn't do anything.Currently still no dialog on click or tooltip when hovering :(

wasn't just fun haha.
Being logged in or not doesn't change anything for me so far.

Does nothing ...

would be awesome to add the sub-forum category, or the full path as on the top of the page, to this header (or somewhere else), so that you don't have to scroll all the way up.
Because if you refresh the page or click the Qt Forum logo, you get to the main page, which is pretty annoying when you want to check out different topics out of one sub-forum/category.
i.e. "... -> General Talk -> Announcements" here.
And some categories are even 3 or 4 "layers" deep, so you have to browse through all of them again to get where you were before you entered the topic.
I hope it is understandable what I'm talking about :)I understand that you want the breadcrumb section below
to be "sticky" as the topic toolbar (your topic "header"). I totally agree that it will improve the category navigation experience. Let me discuss with the design team and get back to you later -

I would say that seeing who upvoted the post is a lot more pressing. (BTW, having the upvote count visible all the time works. Thank you for that.) Spending a lot of time in the forum people will get to know reputable posters. Knowing that they upvoted a post is very helpful. (Some upvotes are more worth than others 😉.)
So far it sounds like only certain roles get to see the upvoters and plain users only see the count.

Any status update on the hover tooltip for upvoters? I still only see "Voters" when I hover over the number.

Hello @SimonSchroeder, I thought this topic was already resolved per the comment above.

@SimonSchroeder I'm sorry for the late reply, I was relocated to another project. It seems that your reputation is high (607) but don't know why you still have the issue with seeing the upvoter. I'm taking note of this issue and check whenever I have spare time.
-
Okay, as far as I have tested on my new account, it has to belong to a specific group to see the upvoters. In details, the moderator group was added to my new account and the upvoter hover tooltip started working. The "verified users" group is not enough for seeing upvoters now.
I need to discuss this topic with other moderators to decide that the "verified users" group can also see upvoters. Since I'm fully booked for the next 2 weeks so please expect a delay from me.

Would be great if you can also include the "topic navigation" in this discussion :)
One still has to go all the way back to the category overview when leaving a topic.General comment:
I know that you guys just ported the forum to the new NodeBB, but from NodeBB's perspective, I fail to understand why there are so many "downgrades" in terms of QoL / usabiliy. The design is way better, but many good default features got removed (seems like) and in many places it feels clunky to work with the new frontend.Another thing: the old forum displayed a small profile "popup", showing number of posts, the reputation and the profile info, when you clicked on a person's profile picture in a post.
Now you instantly "visit" the profile page this way, making you leave the topic where you are currently in. So you have to go all the way back.I would rate this less important than seeing the upvote count (the actual upvoters) or an improved topic navigation, but the longer you use the new frontend, the more you'll notice things or habits that no longer work compared to the former version.
Not complaining, not blaming anybody, I'm just noticing :))
