    Hi all,

My application previously used QT5 (app built in QtCreator + qmake + widgets, no qtquick) which was great for covering Win7+ (and Linux and OSX).
In recent years monitor scaling and high DPI really effected layout which I couldn't solve with QT5, so i moved to QT6.5 (also using QTCreator and qmake).
QT6 has solved the layout issues, but has introduced the problem that my application wont run on Windows that doesn't have D3D version 12 (so anything older than Win10).

I'm really not sure what i can do here.
I've looked for a solution for QT6.5 that removes the requirement for D3Dv12, but so far i haven't come up with anything.

    Has anyone found a solution?

    Thankyou!

Not sure if it will help in your case, but @hskoglund has some solution to run Qt6 on Windows 7, see here: https://forum.qt.io/topic/133002/qt-creator-6-0-1-and-qt-6-2-2-running-on-windows-7

Regarding D3D requirement, I think for widgets it should be possible to not have it (widgets are drawn using software renderer anyway). See https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/qtquick-visualcanvas-scenegraph-renderer.html#rendering-via-the-qt-rendering-hardware-interface and https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/opengl-changes-qt6.html
