Qt Quick without QML

What is the state of Qt Quick C++ API? Is it possible to use it without QML?

Using only C++ API https://github.com/qt/qtdeclarative/tree/dev/src/quick/items in pure C++, without QML/JavaScript. This is not a public API. This topic has been brought up multiple times in the past. I wonder if there are any updates or experiences.
