Welcome, @HannaQt! Glad to have you on board. I've filled in the survey.

Thank you! I'm sure @Pedro will pass on your thanks to all the community moderators. 😊

There are also many knowledgeable and helpful non-moderators around here!

Absolutely - apologies for my choice of wording there!

In the survey, most of the respondents so far have answered that they would like to learn from other Qt users and that they would be interested in creating learning materials themselves. That is excellent news, and we definitely will explore this more.

Thank you all for your responses! 🀩

We got 225 survey responses and many additional comments. Here's a summary:

          What's next?

You hope to see courses and tutorials, and we at Qt are currently creating them. More information about them will follow.

πŸ‘‰ You want to learn from each other, so let's do this! What kind of support would you need from Qt to create and publish learning content? All ideas and comments are welcomed!

            Hi,

Just thinking out loud, maybe something like BinderHub using the C++ Kernel and Qt made available directly there ? I currently don't know the feasibility of it though.

@SGaist This is a great idea, which would make it more straightforward to get started with exercises. We'll make some further research and tests with BinderHub.

I would recommend starting with the kernel side, BinderHub itself is not really hard to setup (from a kubernetes point of view at least).

                      Hello everybody.
I use Qt to develop a Desktop application and I developed mobile application too. I am enormously pleased with how easy Qt makes software development even though many don't so I would like that the number of users that use Qt grow.
So, I would like to write my idea too.
Could be interesting have a website with different tutorials related to the modules that Qt offers. Each tutorial could have a survey that the user must complete correctly to earn points/achievement that guarantee the user has completed that tutorial.
Also, could be very great to have some code to write to complete the tutorial to earn that points/achievement.
You could see this website to have an idea of what I would like to find for Qt too: click.

Finally, if the idea is to your liking and you would like, I offer myself for the development of this project.

@Giridhar Two comments- QT examples are as received
from some comments on forum " very basic ".
That is OK , but lack of function description , lack of description of passed parameters to the function,
and overall lack of "comments" eliminates "examples" as a learning resource.
( as a poorest example - error processing in non existent in examples -
I have been told "it is not basic " to process errors )

Same goes for using forum as a learning resource.

The forum unadvertised purpose is to resolve coding issues.
There are some very knowledgeable contributors doing so, but they are a minority.
So far I have not found many technical forums as a beneficial learning resource - most
"how do I ..." receive reply "Google it ".

As far as "doing a survey " - that is your choice to "get up the speed " in your job ,
I would suggest to skim the forum, it may also help.

                        Good luck
                        Cheers
