How to update translations in the wiki?
-
CreMindES, by tag I didn't mean tag as it is at right pane :) I meant something like
How about add new wiki keyword? Something like [[translation:lang:"original-url"]].
-
Oh, I'm sorry Denis! Somehow I accidentally skipped that post, I see what your are saying now.
Maybe I'm wrong again, but it feels a real "(ab)use", as Tobias said on the Tagging system for me. Please explain it, why is this is better and easier to implement, and make it only visible for that certain article (or have loads of tags), than adding an extra field to the editor and an extra little property to the article? Don't misundertand me, I'm just trying to understand all possibilities, to make the perfect suggestion :)
Oh, and Alexandra have mentioned it somewhere, that she want to figure out a certain way to rename the translated getting started guides to make life easier, so I think this also can be interesting for her.

CreMindES, this way copies wiki categories way :) And I don't see any difference between field at form and additional keyword.
I don't think tagging will help with linking original and translation because I simply can't see how it can help :) -
Sorry, maybe it's because it's late now, but I think I still don't understand everything perfectly.
We are getting more and more translations in the wiki. Is there a way to mark which page is a translation of which? That would be really helpful to mark the translations as in need for an update once the original page gets changed.
Maybe we can we (ab)use the tagging system for this? Any ideas?
I hope tomorrow, with more energy, we will come up with something to Tobias' post, because it would be really helpful for everyone.

There is an ongoing effort to translate the docs to "French":http://qt.developpez.com and "Spanish":http://www.zonaqt.com/. Both efforts are driven by community sites.
I don't think it makes sense to have a general group for translators to all sorts of languages. The regional ones are probably better suited.
