Hi, I am on WSL and trying to use paraFoam on the Ubuntu terminal. I'm new to this stuff and would need help.

With export QT_DEBUG_PLUGINS=1, I have the following result:

Invalid $PV_PLUGIN_PATH and -plugin-path= not defined
    No supplementary ParaView/OpenFOAM reader modules
    Using builtin reader: paraFoam -vtk

This should not be a Qt/xcb issue. Try to run, say, an xterm, it too should say it can't connect to your X display at 172.25.240.1:0.

Yes exactly, by writing xterm I get: xterm: Xt error: Can't open display: 172.25.240.1:0
          What do you suggest?

I suggest you find out how to correctly address your X display under WSL, about which I know nothing. Nor do I have a clue what "paraFoam on the Ubuntu terminal" might mean or indicate. Is it a remote display for which you need to use that 172.25.240.1 IP address, or is it a local display? Check whatever must have set that up as your X display.

              It's for a local display.
Thank you very much for your help I will keep looking.

Last thought ('coz not my area); from a shell:

                export DISPLAY=:0 # or maybe :0.0
                xterm

                make any difference?
