Either it is a place to relax AND get away from coding or
a place to enforce YOUR generally undefined personal opinions.

        SO
post some rules of conduct SPECIFIC for "lounge" .

        BTW
Even when this forum is NOT officially sponsored by Qt using PERSONAL
censorship still adds a bad name to the Qt reputation - IMHO

I don't want special rules for this forum.
Be kind and friendly is enough... IMHO.
There is no need for additional/special code of conduct.

This is a strange point of view!
Why should Qt users forum have an impact of Qt company reputation?
I never worked for Qt and it is not my goal to do it.

@KroMignon OK, I guess hinting is no good and being open gets one banned...

So this is no hint ,
A series of posts , in THIS forum, was deleted because the administrator thought there were inviting spammers.

That in my opinion is wrong , especially on presumably open forum.

As far as Qt company not caring what people say about their product on this forum - I'll leave that alone, not worthy to discuss.

This forum is not the right place to talk with Qt Company.
This is a Qt user forum, not Qt Customer forum, not Qt Development forum.

If you want to talk to Qt Company, use their mailing list https://lists.qt-project.org/

I've no idea what you're talking about. I don't recall anyone being banned for speaking their mind here.

You don't see deleted posts and banned users. Admin didn't just think that. These topics were locked because they became infested with dozens of spam messages made by bot accounts. Please don't spread FUD when you don't have accurate information. I said it times and again and I guess I'm gonna have to say it again - nobody is censoring the forum and no one is out to get you. You're being paranoid. Again.

@Chris-Kawa Don't call me paranoid - my Ubuntu account was cancelled as a result of me contacting the "higher-ups" after the "administrator" locked my post without explanation.
I just do not put-up with self-elected control freaks opinions masqueraded as "rules". Period.
That is why I started this post - I do not want to break rules I do not know.
Nothing paranoid about that - my opinion.

AND I AM NOT REFERRING TO THIS FORUM!

Sorry to hear that, but what does it have to do with this forum or locking topics in lounge that I replied to?
You do show signs of paranoia sometimes so I exercise my right to call you on it.

I just do not put-up with self-elected control freaks opinions masqueraded as "rules". Period.

What are you referring to specifically? I don't know your personal experiences on the internet automagically. These vague statements are really hard to respond to as I have no clue what you're talking about.

That is why I started this post - I do not want to break rules I do not know.

Someone cancelled your Ubuntu account so you want rules in lounge section of Qt forum? Sorry, but I fail to see the connection between these two. In any case this forum has a code of conduct linked at the top of the page. That's the long version. The short one is try to be helpful and don't be an a-hole. That's it.

AND I AM NOT REFERRING TO THIS FORUM!

That's something worth stating very very clearly when making these sort of comments.

You want rules in lounge, mentioned locking of topics, complained about censorship and giving bad name to Qt Company and now you're saying it's not about this forum. I'm really really confused.

I don't use/have any knowledge of Ubuntu and nothing in your posts suggests it refers to some other place than this forum. If you don't state it clearly there's no way for me to know what you're talking about. Naturally I'm gonna make (apparently wrong) assumptions about the target of your complaints and respond appropriately.

@Kent-Dorfman Would be kinda funny if you went to an actual biker place and sat at the bar with a laptop to write spicy posts on Qt forum, making triumphant noises. Imagine the looks you'd get :)

In seriousness though, just remember this is a world wide community. Many different people, cultures and sensibilities. Think of it like this - it's preferable to have a group of people feeling like in a public restaurant than one feeling completely at home and walking with their hairy ass out ;)

Almost as funny as Antifa going to Sturgis last year. My friend, which did go to Sturgis said it was "amusing".

I enjoy a good biker dive. They even tolerate my UJM (universal japanese motorcycle FJR1300 because I soooo fit the demographic) and my laptop...I just complement them on the chrome shine job, say something nerdy, and they nod cluelessly and buy me a beer.

I think we have very different opinions on that front, probably a result of a generational gap.
