I am posting this to SHARE most recent experience AFTER upgrading to Ubuntu 21.04.
THIS IS NOT BY ANY MEANS "POINTING FINGERS" OR IDENTIFYING THE GUILTY.
    Just saying....

    1. I cannot execute "QtCreator" by clicking "new window" on Ubuntu "Desktop"
      Nothing happens.
To be honest - Ubuntu "upgrade" warns about "3rd partY " Software MAY be unusable.
    2. Trying to execute ANY application from "Desktop" is slower than molasses in winter.
    3. Running Qt in debug by pushing "F5" and stepping thru using "F5" or "F10" same
    • slower than molasses in winter.
BUT - I am experimenting with 6.2 and not sure if this is related to Ubuntu or 6.2. JUST SAYING.

Any commentaries, similar observations , with exceptions "...it has been asked before .." or "RTFM" could be beneficial to the group. Or not.

Only one rant? Not much. Upgrade can be frustrating all the time. I am upgrading my os and have been working on changes for two weeks. Here is a bug and there is a crash. No fun.
If you installed Qt before upgrade by yourself, reinstall it and install the latest QtCreator from here

Move to the Lounge - nothing to do with Qt programming...

@JoeCFD I have Qt account and dutifully used Maintenance Tool to "update " to 6.2.
I am unable to figure out HOW to execute 6.2. I used "options" and cannot change from15.5.2 to 6.2 no matter what I try .

Yes, my reply definitely belongs here.
It makes for much fun to chase my posts. Too bad I cannot reply directly - as a new user I cannot . O wait ... I got over 600 posts and I am still "new user" limited to wait 600 seconds between posts.
