@canid Yes. if you want to search on a webpage, type Ctrl+F and search for what you're looking for.

@canid if you mean searching through all documentation, the search bar is at the top of the page:

                  How should I know?

Maybe some extension is blocking it? Or your browser is missing some features? I have no idea.

All web browsers that I know of use Ctrl+F to search the text on the current page they are showing. No add-ins. This has nothing to do with the Qt documentation page per se, it is a feature for any page you happen to be on.

@canid said in Why can't I see the description of QSS in the help document of qt5.15.2. There used to be:

Although others mentioned Ctrl+F above, that is for searching the current page, not the whole Qt docs.

The Qt doc search bar is a Google Search Console component that is embedded into every page of the Qt docs:

                        Screenshot of doc search bar

We can't tell why your browser isn't showing the bar. You'll have to investigate to find out why your browser is blocking it (or why it can't show it). Try disabling all of your extensions/plugins.

Probably because there is no class called QSS...

It's Qt Style Sheet, not QSS.

The string "qss" does not exist in the Qt documentation, so Qt Creator never let us search for "qss". Even Qt 4 docs don't contain "qss" (see https://www.google.com/search?q=site:doc.qt.io/archives/qt-4.8/+"qss" )

I think you remembered wrongly -- search for "style sheet" instead.
