Why do some forum participants find it helpful to move stuff around ?
There's nothing wrong with that. People post to the wrong categories all the time. It's helpful because people not interested in particular topics don't have to dig through mis-posted content. A good example is the "general and desktop" category which gets a lot of topics that have a better place e.g. related to toolchain, python, QML or Qt Creator that don't belong there.
Just because they can and their opinion is better that mine?
Don't take it so personal. It's a routine task. It's not because they can but because they are moderators and moving posts to suitable categories is one of their jobs here. They go through a lot of posts daily and just know categories by heart. Going through some of your posts that have been moved I gotta say they are doing a good job.
I get no notification and have to hunt for the moved post
As Pablo mentioned all your posts are easily found here: https://forum.qt.io/user/anneranch. No need to look around. All your content is in one place.

It is OK with me to move stuff if it helps SOLVE issue
If you find that someone has put clothes in your pantry, I imagine you'd move them to the wardrobe even though nothing is "solved". The same goes to forums.
As Pablo and Chris explained -- without assigning blame: Posts are moved to keep the forum organized.
Well ... surprise surprise ... it is my fault.
...
So how does it feel when user gets automatic blame ?
I really don't see anyone blaming anyone.
And it is nobody business if I take it personally.
It becomes our business when you imply that members of this community are mistreating you, when they're only doing something that is routine and expected.
why do "administrators" bypass the software notification feature ?
Such software notification feature (for moved posts) does not exist in NodeBB forums.
but it is not OK doing so without follow-up / notification.
Is the main issue that you don't want posts to be moved? Or that you want to be informed when a post is moved?
(Yes, I know how to track my posts...)
Then hunting is no longer an issue.

Why are you so defensive all of a sudden? You're not blamed for anything. No harm is done so there's no blame to throw around. That's simply how forums work - users post in sections to the best of their knowledge and moderators act when there's a better place for the post. Nobody is giving it any more though than that.
why do "administrators" bypass the software notification feature ?
Yes, it is their doing. As JKSH mentioned moderators are not bypassing anything. Forum software (which is a 3rd party) just doesn't have a notification feature for that case.
And it is nobody business if I take it personally.
That's true, sorry. Let me change that to "Don't take it so personal, please" as a polite try to say that you seem to be blowing this thing out of proportions. All I want to do is assure you that no moderator is out to get you or any other user of this forum. They are just doing what they are suppose to do and moving posts is nothing malicious or assigning blame for something to users. It's just organizing stuff better.

So the forum expects me to be silent and not express MY OPINION
Well, forum is not a thinking entity. There are many people here with very different opinions. We're just talking. You are expressing your opinion, I'm expressing mine and hopefully we can come to some common ground.
to some uncalled for petty or off subject commentaries?
I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you are referring to. The subject was your post being moved and I was explaining that there's nothing wrong or antagonistic about that.
Do I really care ? ( about rating)
Oh, you mean the +1/-1? Honestly I didn't really pay attention to that but it seems to be a bit misused here. In the forum software It's intended to help promote helpful answers. I don't really think it should be a thing in the lounge because people sorta seem to use it as "I agree/I don't agree" and it has unintended user privilege consequences. To be clear I'm just talking and didn't -1 your posts.
That's a good point actually. While I think it's ok to rate answers in the technical sections to promote helpful answers and mark down misleading or simply wrong ones, rating discussions in the lounge is not a good idea IMO. I don't think this can be set up on per forum section basis, but I can ask.
