Qt 4.7.1 Symbian Development on Linux
-
Hello,
I have just read the new blog entry in the Labs regarding "Qt 4.7.1 for Symbian workaround":http://labs.qt.nokia.com/2010/12/12/start-with-qt-4-7-for-symbian-today/ but it is a trick only for Windows users.Couldn't this issue be resolved by provinding an installer for QT for Symbian even on Linux?
What do you think about that?

Everything is the same except for the Qt4.7.1 Libraries for Symbian.
For this, you must download the source instead.
Then configure with: -xplatform symbian/linux-gcce
Then compile. This process is explained in the "documentation.":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/install-symbian-linux.html
These issues with both Linux/Mac and Windows platforms will be resolved once the new NokiaQtSDK is released. You won't need to worry about any setup. Just a few clicks.

Symbian development on Linux will still be an issue as Symbian SDK doesn't officially support linux platform.

@xsacha... Thanks for the support. I hope they'll support Linux in the future.
